If you are in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood, please consider grabbing a drink at El Puente Pop-Up Bar.
UPDATE: PLEASE check their facebook page for hours and whether they are still open.
The menu features Puerto Rican cocktails crafted by San Juan bartenders Ivan and Mario.
Profits from the bar go to Maria hurricane relief. And, the bar is also a drop-off point for relief supplies.
Mario told me the one thing they would love to get are Sawyer water filters.
Here are a few amazon links for sawyer branded water filters. This site receives a commission for using these links to shop at amazon. Proceeds will be used to support this effort. I imagine you could send the product to the bar’s address (El Puente Pop-Up Bar, 387 Court Street, Brooklyn, New York 11231) c/o either Mario Seijo Rivera or Ivan Torres. But the drinks are very good, so bring them by yourself if you can and have a few drinks!
I don’t know the exact hours, but I believe they open at 5pm. And, they are going to be open on New Year’s Eve if you would like to celebrate there. The pop-up is open until January 7 (I think), but they are hoping to be open for a longer time. For now, if you would like to support the efforts of Mario and Ivan, head there soon!
Here is a photo of their stated mission.
Here is their menu of Puerto-Rican-inspired drinks.
Here is the Chocolate Caliente I ordered last night.
They can be found at 387 Court Street. Off the Carroll Street stop on the F or G.
